We’ve got some awesome countryside and cycle trails in County Durham, let’s get out and enjoy them together!

Shop Social Ride #2 – date TBC

Probably a bit longer than the first one, and with more twists and turns.

#1 Inspiral Cycles 10th birthday social ride out, Sunday 9th March.

Thank you to everyone who turned out. It’s great to be reminded how ace it is to just be riding a bike, in the great outdoors, with cool people to chat to!

We did the “local classic” railway lines loop of 20 miles. Including navigation and photo stops this took us 2 hours from leaving the shop, to getting back to Bish.

Inspiral Cycles Shop Social Rides – general format.

Meet at shop after 9:00am for a cup of tea, then at 9:30 we’ll close shop and go ride!

We’ll go along the disused railway lines for about 20 miles, at an average speed of about 12mph, though a faster group might break away and go further – depending on how many people turn up!

Fifteas and the Bishop Auckland Cupcake Co do excellent coffee and cakes, and both are open on Sundays. (Are there other cafes open in Bish on Sundays?)

We’ll maybe do Bolt’s Law on a future shop ride?

Small print – we’ll be riding together and we want everyone to have a great social ride out. Please read the below T&Cs / ride etiquette:

  • Riders under 16 must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
  • You are responsible for your own safety. Your bike must be safe, suitably maintained and fit for the ride. We don’t want to interrupt the flow of the ride to fix a broken bike. If your bike needs some work, we can get this done in our workshop, please contact us to get it booked in.
  • If you’re going to leave your bike unattended, bring a lock. We’re not responsible for your property while out and about.
  • Bring spares, snacks and drink.
  • Other recommended items (which we hope you’d carry on a bike ride anyway):
    • spare inner tube to fit your bike
    • pump/inflator
    • tyre levers
    • first aid kit
    • clothing that will keep you warm/dry.
