The incredibly popular Raleigh Motus has had a redesign for the 2020 range, with a new frame and different specifications improving this already fantastic electric bicycle in several ways. The new design allows the Bosch battery to be stored in a lower, more central position that improves the bike’s stability and handling. The battery is also better integrated into the Motus frame, making it a lot more aesthetically pleasing.
The new Motus frames are longer than those used on previous models, which makes getting on and off the Lowstep and Open models a lot easier. The extra length also makes the bike more stable, improving the e-bike experience for both new and experienced cyclists alike!
The Tour model sits in the middle of the Motus e-bike range, offering a great balance of great components and good value. It’s got Bosch’s Active Line motor and a large-capacity 400Wh battery, giving the bike an impressive range and great hill-climbing ability. Suspension forks and a suspension seatpost help soften bumpy tracks, and an adjustable-angle stem and Selle Royal Milo saddle make the bike incredibly comfortable to ride.
Equipped with front and rear lights that run from the e-bike’s main battery, the Motus Tour helps keep you visible on the roads and illuminate unlit paths. The rear light has an accelerometer built in, and automatically shines brighter when you decelerate, helping other people know that you’re slowing down. Full mudguards, a pannier rack and a kickstand finish it off to make the bike fantastic for commuting, leisure riding or touring.
The Motus uses a Bosch PowerPack battery which offers reliable, long lasting energy storage with ergonomic designs. These Lithium Ion batteries have an impressive life expectancy and will last at least 1000 full charges before any noticeable battery degradation occurs. The 2020 Tour model has a large 400Wh powerpack, providing a range of up to 110 miles on a single charge (based on a light rider on smooth roads/paths using low power modes).
The Bosch Intuvia electric bike display shows everything you need to know whilst riding, is splash proof, and is easily operated from the handlebars. It's advanced and easy to read, and offers five riding modes: Off, Eco, Tour, Sport and Turbo. There's also a handy walk-assist function that helps if you're pushing the bike up a steep slope.
